KARATE CHAMPS

Over one year from the day I sat in the smokey West Chester coffee house and cockily proclaimed, "I could make a better video game than that" Karate Champs has finally entered a playable beta stage. What does that mean? It means its as good as its going to get, my friends.

And the critics are raving(critics may or may not be refering to Karate Champs):
  • "move over, jesus! karate champs is here!" --me
  • "that game is disturbingly fun --paul
  • "its un-fucking-believeable!" --me
  • "uhhhhh" --ryan
  • "a tour-de-force, nonstop roller-coaster ride of adrenaline rushing action!" --me
  • "hey, I like your kung-fu game" --that kid in my OpenGL class
  • "grabs you by the nuts and doesnt let go!" -- me
  • "what's that stuff coming out of his nose?" --dave my roommate
  • "BOOYAH!" --me
  • "do i know you?" --some guy

KARATE CHAMPS is the result of a cocky boast I made after watching my friends play a few rounds of Karate Champ(note the lack of an 's' and awesomeness). It's a fighting game that stars Joel Wasko and Matt Nye doing what they've always had a latent desire to do....NO, not sleep with each other! KICK EACH OTHER'S ASSES!!!!! and then sleep with each other.
Credits:
  • Josh Freed: programming, art, programming, audio, programming, design...and programming.
  • Matt Nye: amazing artwork, audio, design
  • Joel Wasko: audio, design

If you have a Geforce graphics card, my game will crash HARDCORE after clicking "Fight" if you are using the 40.xx or 41.xx drivers. Anything lower or higher have worked flawlessly. I was told directly from one of the developers of the DirectX API that this is NOT my fault :)
